Allianz could have gone with the proposed merger with Heidelberg in 2009. Sayang naman.

Heidelberg seems to be having difficulties too. Sales fell by a third in four years, and the company posted a net loss in the last three fiscal years. The company has shifted some operations to China, opening a plant in Shanghai in 2006 to tap growing Asian demand and cut production costs.

It seems that Asia remains the only really viable market for printing machine producers.

...and Middle East, too. According to him because of the sharp slump sa market since 2008 ang strategy nila ngayon besides selling machines and plates is selling solutions na rin.

But here in the Gulf ganun ang kalakaran ng Heidelberg & Agfa. Normally, 6 or 12 months mag stay ang Systems Engineer nila. Depende sa offer and contract.

What do you think, guys?
