GOOD DAY TO EVERYBODY!

QUESTION: ANG DEVELOPER PO BA NAG-EEXPIRE NG ILANG LINGGO SA
PROCESSOR BIN? DEPENDE PO BA SA BRAND NG PROCESSOR
YUN O DEPENDE PO KUNG CALIBRATED ITO O HINDI.
KAILANGAN PO BA I-CALIBRATE ANG SYSTEM TUWING
MAGPAPALIT NG DEVELOPER? MARAMING SALAMAT PO IN

In our company, we normally do a complete replacement of the developer every 2 to 2.5 weeks depending on the usage. We only use the replenisher to maintain the level in the tub. As the developer weakens, we increase the developing time to compensate. The important thing is to maintain the density of the emulsion at the correct value (usually between 3.5 to 4.5). You can check this by using a densitometer.

There is no need to do a system recalibration unless the screen values do not come out correct. This can be checked by printing out a screen wedge and measuring the dot values with a densitometer.

Hope this info helps. Smile

We have used many brand of processors; and, in my opinion, they are all the same. The important factor in a processor are:
1. correct and stable temperature control
2. reliable speed control
3. replenisher system
4. good condition of rollers

Kahit gaano katagal mong gamitin (2 weeks to 1 month) make sure you do the following:

1) You do a regular linearization curve (2% file = 2% dot; etc...)
2) You use a wedge and check your microlines if positive and negative lines are same in thickness.
2) You do a regular variation test across the film/plate (variation not exceeding 1.5%)
3) Your density (film) should be according to what Mr. Presstech has suggested (3.5 - 4.5).
4) You log, your density and dot readings every day to monitor if it's starting to build a trend (humihina ang density, nagbabago ang dots, etc...). These data can give you so much information later on to guide you on your decision making kung hanggang kailan mo talagang pwedeng i-maximize ang chemicals mo.

My humble thoughts.

Larry
